The eggheads at R&D have done it again! Recent advances in technologies now allow Commanders to customize the speed, production time, and overall credit consumption of their units. The Syndicate has granted you authorization to modify your favorite units and vehicles according to your mission-specific needs and preferred combat styles. Here’s how it works:
OVERVIEW - Training center/ Drill Instructors
The Training center allows your engineers to use Drill Instructors to augment your units. You will need to build the Training center to manage your Drill Instructors and begin upgrading.
Drill instructors are interchangeable data components that allow you to upgrade your units. You will automatically receive Drill Instructors with every higher Experience Level that you reach in the game. The number of Drill Instructors received per level-up will increase over time:
Levels 2 – 34 / 2 Drill Instructors
Levels 35 – 64 / 4 Drill Instructors
Levels 65 – 79 / 6 Drill Instructors
Levels 80 + / 8 Drill Instructors
- You can also earn extra Drill Instructors by completing successively higher missions Levels.
- Drill Instructors can be bought at the Black Market for 100 IP points per Drill Instructor.
- Drill Instructors CANNOT be given as gifts, or traded. Drill Instructors have been applied retroactively to reflect your current Experience Level and Missions progress.
APPLYING DRILL INSTRUCTORS
Click the Training Center to access the Tree. On the tree you will see all production-line SI units divided into Unit Sets. In order to unlock different unit attributes and branches of the Tree, you must progress through each Unit Set sequentially. To get started, use two of your Drill Instructors to unlock Unit Set 1 by clicking the “Upgrade Unit Set I” button twice. You’ll notice that applying each node takes time – this time will increase with each additional node you apply to a Unit.
Once you’ve unlocked access to Unit Set II, you must upgrade each unit’s speed to Augmentation Level 8 before moving on to the next. (This will increase to Level 10 for Unit Sets IV and V.) Once you have upgraded all Units to Level 8, you can unlock access to Unit Set II. Now you have a choice between working your way through the next Unit Set, reducing the production time of Unit Set I, or going back and continuing to upgrade the speed of your unlocked units. (Don’t worry Commanders - it’s a lot less complicated than it sounds.)
