Syndicate Tactical Assault Group

The Syndicate Tactical Assault Group are a new generation of Syndicate units based off the mineral Thulium and currently only acquired by players who have participated in the Global Quest: Arms Race and collected enough schematics to exchange for Influence Points, which are in turn used to purchase the various contract referrals for each of the four units. Instead of using conventional resources, only Thulium may be used to produce these new units, which are available after completing the contracts in either the Barracks or Support Center.

The following units have been declassified and cleared for use with current commanders in Zandia...

The Communications Satellite system was implemented by the Syndicate to fulfill their need for a secure global communication system entirely independent of government or 3rd party influence in support of their ongoing global operations. The syndicate issues individual communication packages to members of the Syndicate Tactical Assault Group - "Viper" CQB Assault Troopers. These extensively trained soldiers use aerial Survey data, information from recon satellites and reconnaissance information to seek out and destroy enemies. Among the Syndicate members, "Viper" - CQB Assault Trooper are known as "Hounds" for their ability to track their victims: they appear as if from nowhere, strike the unsuspecting victims, then disappear back into the jungles.

The main problem of modern armor systems is the difficulty of replacing the damaged armor quickly and without great cost to both finances and Unit numbers. However, research into the newest defensive concept, IAP (Interchangeable Armor Plates) negates this problem, allowing easily interchangeable pieces of armor. The elite infantry defense of the Syndicate Tactical Assault Group, "Rhinos," were the first to test the new armor. The results were fantastic. Now, and without the need for special tools, soldiers have been clocked replacing damaged items in under twelve seconds. Syndicate management has been impressed with the armor's performance to date, as loss of infantry personnel has dropped dramatically since its adoption.

You wouldn't bring a knife to a gunfight, but given the choice, everyone would love to bring the new Microwave-based weapon (MGVT-525) and obliterate everyone and everything in sight. The Syndicate contributed and invested heavily in the development of the weapon and supplied it to their Heavy Infantry Units, the "Vector" Heavy Infantry Troopers. With its near-unlimited ammunition and quick firing rate, this directed energy system has quickly become a Vector favorite. The only disadvantage of this gun is that it's based on Thulium, and thus is extremely heavy - so can only be used in Garrisons.

The engineers of "Denver Dynamics" developed a self-stabilizing exoskeleton prototype based on Thulium microcontrollers. Initially, the model was to be used for the construction of buildings in complex environments, however, the Syndicate purchased the patent along with the whole company. The Syndicate claimed that the invention had unprecedented potential as a mobile weapons platform, with speed and flexibility equal to or greater than that of un-augmented infantry. Immediately after the latest model - the RPT-263 - had been commissioned, the Syndicate Tactical Assault Group created a subunit named "Cheetah," for their R-TAG Assault Troopers. The exoskeleton is extremely effective in assault operations, yet completely ineffective in defense; the lack of high quality armor means they are an easy target caught standing still in defensive positions.
