SF Defensive Units

From Plarium Games Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Defense Units require the relevant Lost Art to be discovered as well as the construction of a required building from which they alone may be "purchased". Units with higher defence stats are charged with protecting a player's own Castle, though they may be sent into the Catacombes when not needed. Defence Units may be upgraded with Lost Arts and Dark Essence which will also reducee their food consumption. Defense Units also have a reduced load capacity compared to Attack Units.

Usage

Defence Units may be tasked with performing a variety of duties, including reinforcing other players castles. Despite their main defense designation, they may also be sent to attack tactically as well as besiege. Attack per se is not recomended, players are warned via a pop up message if they chose to send some or all Defence Units on such tasks. Stormfall is open to "players choice", and there may be strategic reasons for using defense untits in ways other than defense; farming raids, dormant spying and cheap spamming with a single unit is also possible.

Infantry

Although it is possible to gain many types of troops during battlegrounds, Infantry are the inital task force when the game commences. Listed below are the current available units that can be purchased.

Archer
Archers are Half-Elvin in origin and are the basic unit available shortly after the game commences once the Sentry House is constructed. They are the fastest and cheapest units to purchase. Players also recieve a "gift" of fifty Archers from Lord Oberon soon after starting the initial game; these are dedicated to defense only, and therefore remain at the players castle. Lord Oberon's archers can not be healed if defeated in battle.

There are four different types of Mountain Dwarves which are distinguished by one of their stats being augemented, this makes them more expensive and also slower to produce.

Arbalester
An arbalest is a steel reinforced crossbow which gives this unit it's name, The Arbalester is more powerful against infantry than any of the previous units.

Warden
Wardens relish in making short work of Occult units, and are problematic for other units too compared to their cousins the Arbalester and Bear Riders, which is due to having higher base stats.

Nomads
Adept on a fast dun and carrying a composite bow, Nomads can be very effective defenders if available in numbers. They are quite fast and if plentiful, can farm quite effectively too.
