Persian Positions - Overview
Persian Positions strategic positions across the countryside that have been occupied by hostile Persian forces, or that are under imminent threat of Persian attack. The positions are located at random around your city. You may persecute these positions as you see fit. Successfully completing these allows you to:
- Earn quest items for Global Quests
- Liberate new Units above your current agreement level
Be advised - while many Persian Positions may offer valuable prizes (resource caches or unaffiliated new units) - some will offer nothing but high casualties and the opportunity to earn Experience Points. Evaluate your goals and current strength carefully before engaging, and do not waste units you cannot afford to lose. While not every successful quest will offer a reward, each Persian Position you neutralize for no reward counts towards your eventual payout. Each skipped payout increases your odds of receiving a bonus on your next attempt - so keep trying!
Every Persian Position has its own Level, indicating the approximate size and strength of the enemy force. You may attack the same Position as many times as needed in order to destroy all hostile units.
All Persian Positions can be viewed from your Oracle on the "Positions" tab.
The Oracle gives you information about:
Upgrading the Oracle has no effect on the number of detected positions, but will allow you to detect more Colonies on the Map.
Send Units to a Persian Position from the "Positions" tab in your Oracle interface, or interact with the positions via the Game Map.

Persian Position Strength Indicators
Every Persian Position has two strength indicators – its Level and Current Strength. The Level indicates the size of the force occupying the position. The Current Strength represents the approximate percentage of enemy Units remaining at the position. Both indicators can be found on your Oracle interface and on the game map.
Experience makes for a great teacher. While we can not confirm battle mechanics or Persian Position reward systems with 100% certainty, various archons have put enormous effort to determine as much about these concepts as possible. To examine their findings and conclusions please make your way over to the Persian Positions Theorycrafting or the Battle Calculation Theorycrafting pages.
We will be gathering actual verified battle reports for addition to this site. A word of caution though, generated rewards are most likely the product of multiple Persian Position battles. For more information visit the Persian Positions Theorycrafting page. Likewise, battle calculations are not known with 100% accuracy and while the troops sent to a site by a archon might be indicative of what should be sent to a similar site, it is quite probable that there is an element of random within the calculations and thus a site may need more or less troops than what is show in these pages.
